Women AT (“W@”, “we” or “us”) respects your concerns about privacy and recognizes the importance of being transparent regarding the personal data we collect about you.

This Privacy Notice applies to personal data we collect in connection with our platform, for example, when you visit our website womenat.com (“Site”), when you join us, when you register to our events, when you engage with us through social media platforms or when you contact us. This Privacy Notice describes the types of personal data we collect about you, how we may use that information, with whom we may share it and the rights you have regarding our use of that information. It also describes the measures we take to protect the security of your personal data, how long we retain it and how you can contact us to exercise your rights.

This Privacy Notice may be updated periodically to reflect changes in our privacy practices or relevant laws. We will post a prominent notice on the Site and/or send you an e-mail to notify you of any significant changes and indicate at the top of the notice when it was updated.

WHAT PERSONAL DATA DO WE COLLECT AND HOW DO WE USE IT?

When you join us

If you are a woman professional, you may wish to join us. To do so, we ask for information such as your name and e-mail address, the URL to your professional profile online (e.g., on LinkedIn), your professional title and organisation, your key area(s) of expertise, and a brief summary of your professional experience. We may also collect your photograph to post it on our platform and increase your visibility. We use this information to manage your membership based on your consent.

When you join our mailing list

You may sign up on our Site to receive updates on our events or activities. To sign up, we ask for information such as your e-mail address. We use this information to send you the communications you request.

When you join our events or programmes

If you wish to join our events or programmes, we ask for information such as your name, e-mail address, professional title and organisation. We use this information to manage your participation in our events or programmes based on our legitimate interests to promote our activities. We may also use the information to communicate with you about other events and topics we believe may be of interest to you, subject to obtaining your consent in accordance with applicable law.

 

When you contact us or we contact you

When you contact or are contacted by us, we may collect information such as your name, e-mail address, professional title and organisation, and records of correspondence. We use this information to respond to and communicate with you about your questions and comments based on our legitimate interest to do so.

 

When you contribute to our blogs

You may be able to contribute or submit comments to blogs we host on our Site.  You may include personal data in your post or comment such as your name.  We use your name and any other information you submit to the extent necessary to manage our blogs based on our legitimate interest in facilitating exchanges of views and connecting with each other.

When you visit our Site

We obtain certain technical information by automated means when you visit our Site. The information we collect in this manner may include the IP address of the device you use to connect to the Internet, characteristics about your access device and/or browser, statistics on your activities on the Site, information about how you came to the Site and other data collected through cookies and similar technologies. WHO DO WE SHARE YOUR PERSONAL DATA WITH?

We do not sell or otherwise disclose your personal data except as described in this section. We share your information with service providers we have retained to perform services on our behalf, including to provide web development services and to process online registration forms for our events.  These service providers are not authorised by us to use or disclose the information except as necessary to perform services on our behalf or to comply with legal requirements.  Where you register for W@ events that are sponsored by a third party organisation or hosted in a third party location, we will also share your contact information with the third party sponsors or organisers. In addition, we may disclose information about you (i) if we are required to do so by law or legal process (such as a court order), (ii) in response to a request by law enforcement authorities, or (iii) when we believe disclosure is necessary or appropriate to prevent physical harm or financial loss or in connection with an investigation of suspected or actual illegal activity. 

 

HOW DO WE PROTECT YOUR PERSONAL DATA?

 

Security safeguards

We maintain appropriate administrative, technical and physical safeguards to protect the personal data you provide to us against accidental or unlawful destruction, loss, alteration, unauthorised disclosure or access. 

Transfer of personal data to other countries

We will transfer the personal data we collect about you to our third party service providers in other countries than the country in which you originally provided it, including in Israel, Japan and in the United States. The European Commission has recognised Israel and Japan as providing an adequate level of data protection. However, U.S. laws have not been recognised as providing such a level of data protection. In this event, we will implement appropriate safeguards to ensure an adequate level of data protection, including executing data transfers agreements based on the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses. HOW LONG DO WE RETAIN YOUR PERSONAL DATA?

We will typically keep the information you provide for the duration of your membership. 

WHAT RIGHTS DO YOU HAVE OVER YOUR PERSONAL DATA?

Subject to applicable law, you may (1) request access to the personal data we maintain about you; (2) request that we update, correct, amend, or erase your information; or (3) request the restriction of our use of your personal data. In addition, you may receive, in a structured, commonly used and machine-readable format, the personal data that you have provided to us about you, with your consent.  You have the right to have this information transmitted to another company, where it is technically feasible.

You also may object at any time to the use of your personal data, on grounds relating to your particular situation, where we use that information based on our legitimate interests as described above.  If we use your personal data to send you updates, you may object at any time and without providing any reasons to such a use (e.g., by clicking in the unsubscribe link in our emails), and we will apply your preferences going forward. You also may withdraw any consent you previously provided to us.  If you do so, this will not affect the lawfulness of our use of your information based on your consent before its withdrawal.

If you are not satisfied by our response or if you consider your privacy rights have been breached, you may lodge a complaint with a data protection authority, in particular in the EU country of your habitual residence, place of work or place of our alleged infringement of the European data protection rules.

 

CHILDREN’S PRIVACY

Our platform and Site are not directed to children under the age of thirteen eighteen (18) and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children under the age of thirteen eighteen (18) on the Site.  If we become aware that we have inadvertently received personal data from a visitor under the age of thirteen eighteen (18) on this Site, we will delete the information from our records.
