Julia Rapp

Deputy Head of Unit at the European Commission’s DG COMP, having joined in 2008 to work for the State aid coordination unit. She has worked in the State aid unit that deals with cases on tax planning practices. As such, she has managed a number of high-profile cases. Previously, she worked as a lecturer on EU and EU competition law at the University of Leiden, the Netherlands. In 2002-2004, practiced at Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom. Graduated as a lawyer from the University of Konstanz in Germany. She has published extensively on State aid law.
