Rita Wezenbeek

Director at the European Commission's DG CONNECT. Until recently, she was Head of Antitrust and Telecommunications Unit at DG COMP. Previously, Rita was the head of DG COMP's unit dealing with competition in Retail Financial Services and Payment Systems. In 2005 and 2006 Rita was a member of the team dealing with the review of EC policy in the area of Art. 102 TFEU on abuse of dominance in DG COMP’s Policy Unit. Before joining the EC in 2002, Rita worked as a private lawyer at the Dutch/ Belgian law firm for 16 years, dealing with corporate and EU law.
