Sophie Moonen

Head of Unit A1 in DG COMP, in charge of antitrust policy and case support since December 2020. She previously was the Head of Unit F2 (State aid – Transport), and C5 (Mergers – IT, telecoms and media), and a case-handler in mergers and in antitrust in the energy sector. Prior to joining DG COMP, Sophie practiced law in Brussels and Washington DC (1995 –2002). She is a magna cum laude law graduate of the University of Liège (Belgium) and holds an LL.M. from the University of Michigan.
